We apologize for our delayed response! We traveled for another week after Croatia and then hit the ground running when we got back with moving in to our new apartment.
I hope all is well! It was great to meet you also.
We absolutely LOVED the honeymoon. Honestly Secret Dalmatia made it incredibly wonderful for us and we were so appreciative for everything y'all did. The hotels were really awesome - Hotel Villa Nora was our favorite. Everyone was incredibly nice everywhere we went but they were by far the nicest and most accommodating!
All of our guides were extremely knowledgeable and so sweet. We loved all of the activities planned - the walking tours, the meals, wine tour, kayaking. I think Hvar was overall our favorite and the wine tour/dinner in the olive grove was so amazing.
Please let us know if there are any specific questions we can answer or any place we can write a review for the tour guides or Secret Dalmatia overall.
Thank you for making our honeymoon great!

Yes It was great chatting to you via mobile phones and we had the most wonderful time in your country. All the drivers were really professional and warm hearted. We enjoyed all your tours and the guides were so very friendly, informative and such fun to be with - we felt so very much at home. We loved meeting Tatianna and had the most wonderful morning cooking – infact only left late afternoon!! To be honest we had been sooo spoilt everywhere that Dubrovnik was at the bottom of our list due to being so touristy!!
We have told so many people about your company due to your professionalism and diligence so hope you get some more business.
WE SHALL BE BACK!!
Your food was out of this world and Anthony who is knowledgable on wine said he had had some of the best wine in his life. It was a most remarkable and enjoyable trip and surpassed all our expectations.
Will be in touch in due course ---- thank you again for all your help to make it such a wonderful experience
Kind regards, Jane
Thanks for your e mail. We have been settling into being back in New York with work and family obligations.
Thanks for helping to make our trip so great. The hotels were wonderful, particularly Hotel Bellevue.
The service staff were terrific and helpful. The two guides were very nice and informative .
Mario, in Hvar, especially went out of his way to introduce us to Hvar. Branka, in Dubrovnik, was terrific.

We had such a wonderful visit to Croatia! I can't thank you enough for all you did to make this last-minute vacation happen in such a fabulous, personalized way. The Dubrovnik tour with Maris was excellent, as was the kayak afternoon with Nicolas. The drive to Montenegro was perhaps a little ambitious, but Bozo was delightful and made it fun. The boat was great, and we loved sailing to the various islands. Vedrana is an absolute gem — a lovely, positive, can-do person (and an eager and expert cook!). We are all missing her! As you probably know, we had some less than ideal weather while sailing so it was particularly comforting to have such an expert sailor as Borko on our team. All of the people you arranged for us, including Florio and all his drivers, were great -- friendly, punctual and extremely knowledgable. We all want to return to Croatia next summer!
I will highly recommend you and Secret Croatia!
Thank you for your email.
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole Secret Dalmatia experience and had a wonderfully memorable week.
Specifically, our driver from the train station in Zagreb right through to when he dropped us in Split, was absolutely wonderful. Our local guide in Zagreb was also especially lovely. All the guides and drivers were great but these two were "extra great".
We enjoyed the whole week, the standout being the day trip to the winery on the peninsula. That was a complete novel and extremely memorable experience. We bought some wine and olive oil to indulge ourselves in over the next couple of days!
We loved Croatia and would love to come back another time to explore other areas like the islands off Split, and maybe other areas around the peninsula, with your guidance. We would plan to do this earlier in the year and out of the high tourist season.
Please pass on our thanks to all our drivers and local guides - they were great fun and very professional and courteous throughout the whole trip.
Thanks again for all your help Diana, especially with the unexpected train disruption from Austria. We are now in Istanbul for 10 days and tomorrow join another tour but with a larger group. From there we go to London for 10 days then home at the end of August.
Til next time...

Writing from Lee's kitchen table in Maine, USA. Arrived last night. Had a wonderful time in Croatia. Thank you so much for a great trip. I was very complicated working with such a large group. You were very professional and accomodating. Kudos to Secret Dalmatia. I will give your business as much good PR as possible.
We have really had a good trip, thanks for helping to organize things and being flexible when we wanted to make some changes. This is truly a beautiful country and I hope to come again some day. The highlights of the trip were many. The tour guides were fantastic, and we absolutely loved hotel Apolon. Tatjana was probably the true highlight of our trip. I feel like I made a good friend with her in just a few short hours. She is an incredible person and an amazing chef. The day was much more than I ever expected it to be. Split is just a beautiful city with a deep soul. I love the way it has been preserved and modernized at the same time. I would like to see it again when it's not so crowded:).
I would recommend the agency to anyone coming to Croatia. It was a real treat to have people driving us, getting tickets, etc. At home our lives are very busy and this helped to make our vacation really a vacation. We didn't have to focus on the small details.
Good luck to you and I hope that Secret Dalmatia is a success!
We returned from Europe yesterday. What a wonderful time we had! It is hard for me to refrain from boring people with stories of our trip all the time.
The islands were beautiful. Oz was a fantastic captain - the best I've experienced. I'm so glad you urged us to book him. You said he was a good cook, but that almost seemed an understatement. We enjoyed his company and food greatly and would love to return someday to enjoy his hospitality.
Our tour and dinner in Hvar was spectacular as well. We particularly enjoyed the dinner - the story, the scenery, the food, the lovely family. Vis wasn't quite as on the mark for us - it is perhaps our fault because we were so late. The guide did his best despite our late arrival. The dinner was also affected by the fact there were a lot of flies present at the meal, which made it difficult for us to relax.
Overall, it was a wonderful week. Thank you so much for a lovely introduction to your beautiful country. I will be sure to review on Tripadvisor and tell our friends about your service.
First of all, I want to apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I was
busy communicating was all my friends regarding our fabulous trip
First of all, Dalmatian coast of Croatia has increadible natural beauty. The
cities and islands conceal centuries of history. Your people are friendly
and physically beautiful ( expecially women). We ate fabulous food and drank great wine. Most importantly, you made it all possible.
In all my years of traveling and dealing with travel agents ( mostly on
line) I don't remember another incident of flawless communications like we had with you.
The trip you put together for us was perfect. Both hotels were superb,
service-excellent. We loved Andrea and Sonya, I wish I could take them home with me. There was so much to see and do, and yet the pace of the trip was perfect, not too overwhelming. we loved all the great and exquisite meals you arranged for us. A total 10 in every aspect.
We left your country with a desire to return. You will be hearing from many of our friends and relatives who decide to follow our lead and visit.
Thank you once again for all your help.
Please forward this email to your superiors so they can also appreciate the
work you have done for us.Unfortunately I can't do it muself since you were my only contact with Secret Dalmatia.
We wish you all the best in the future.
Anna and friends.
Thanks so much, Diana. First, we couldn’t have asked for a more amazing skipper than Borko; he really made all the difference and was instrumental in making our journey by sea from Split to Dubrovnik among our most memorable trips ever.
While the entire sailboat journey was fantastic, highlights definitely included our time in the bay at Polace (Mljet was perhaps our favorite island of all), and the best octopus dinner we’ve ever had at Roki’s, among the vineyards in the hills above Komiza.
We encountered only one rough night on the water (in Komiza) and one stormy morning (from Komiza to Hvar), but otherwise it was beautiful weather and smooth sailing. We also discovered a new favorite wine, Dingac. I wish more of it was exported to the US, but I’m sure we’ll find a bottle here and there.
Speaking of Hvar/Pakleni Islands, while it was very nice, I felt it was a bit overrated compared to other islands such as Vis, Mljet and Korcula, but perhaps that’s because of the rather obnoxious “yacht week” crowd (most of whom seemed to be American, embarrassingly enough) who seemed more intent on getting as drunk as possible than enjoying the wonderful natural beauty of Palmizana.
The hotels you selected for us were all very nice; Hotel Peristil in Split was a favorite, not only due to the very convenient location, but also the wonderful team working there – Vladimir in particular. We ended up feeling as though Split was our “home in Croatia,” and returning to Hotel Peristi before leaving was like a homecoming of sorts.
Hotel Lero in Dubrovnik was a nice change of pace; our girls loved the pool there and the walk to the old walled city was long but fine. We actually liked the vibe of Korcula (aka “Little Dubrovnik”) better than Dubrovnik, and for walled city experiences, both Korcula and Kotor were at least as interesting and enjoyable as Dubrovnik, where, on the second day, a deluge of tourists from big cruise ships made things far too crowded.
Parking for the hotel in Budva was a bit of a nightmare, but the helpful staff guided us to a rather dodgy spot near a construction site on a busy street; I was afraid the car might be sideswiped or otherwise damaged during our stay (given the difficulty of finding a parking place, we left it there for our entire time in Budva). Fortunately, the car was unscathed and all was well, though driving in Montenegro in general was a bit of a challenge; the GPS didn’t work very well there for some reason.
One area I think you could help provide greater insight and preparation for your clients would be advice on local currency and local driving conditions. Given that everything was quoted in euros, we were under the impression we could use euros in Croatia and converted all of our dollars (with associated commissions) into euros, but then found out we needed kunas for almost everything, so we lost out again on commissions from euros to kunas. Euros worked fine in Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina, of course.
I also would have benefited from a better understanding, before the trip, of how marina fees vs. buoy fees vs. just anchoring, etc., works and the approximate costs associated with each, etc. For example, just knowing that the national park entry fee also included anchorage in the bay at Polace, and what that fee is, per person, and that the fee needs to be paid in kuna, would have helped us plan ahead a bit better.
As for driving, we did not anticipate a nearly 3-hour border crossing into Montenegro; I’d assumed crossings between countries (especially former Yugoslavian countries) would be as hassle-free as crossings between most other European countries, but that’s definitely not the case. Every car, every passport was scrutinized at the borders. We even took a “back road” on the way out of Kotor to Mostar to try to minimize the issue. By the way, thanks for recommending Mostar – it was very interesting and different; the girls even found the best mall we’d seen anywhere (and did a bit of shopping at Pull & Bear).
And we do regret not being able to meet you or Alan during our time in Croatia, but if we ever return, hopefully we can. Likewise, if you’re ever in Southern California, you’re always welcome to visit us.
