The journal started because people kept asking the same questions.
When to go. Where to stay. Which island. What to eat. How to reach the place with no road and no listing. We’ve been answering these individually since 2005. At some point it made sense to write them down.
Twenty years of building itineraries in Croatia means we know things no guide covers. The winemaker on Pelješac who pours from his own barrels in a cellar that isn’t open to the public. The island in the Elaphiti group that takes a phone call to reach, not a booking engine. The restaurant on Vis with no sign outside that serves peka the way it should be served: ordered a day ahead, pulled from the fire at the right moment, eaten slowly.
We know these things because we tracked them down over two decades. That’s the inventory.
This is where we share it. Articles here cover timing for specific islands, what to eat in Istria and Dalmatia, what a crewed charter actually costs versus what most agencies quote, and how to find the Croatia that doesn’t appear on any aggregator.
If there’s something we haven’t covered, write to us at info@secretdalmatia.com. We read everything.
